When reading Anna Deavere Smith‘s play Twilight about the 1992 Los Angeles riots, you see monologue after monologue of various people’s witnessed monstrosities and worries while underneath there is something glowing steady- hope. With every struggle, there comes a good fight to be fought using skills that you have picked up along the way; the more troubles you have, the better prepared you will be. I know it’s hard when you are going through it, but it is so rewarding to trust in yourself and face dilemmas as challenges to be conquered.

A friend said it best after Trump won the election – “While you guys are moving to Canada, I’ll be here rolling up my sleeves and getting to work.”
