When I was in middle school I was a big fan of the movie Crybaby, and was on the hunt for more movies by John Waters. An independent video store had Pink Flamingos, and my world was forever changed. I’ve always liked shock humor and bad taste, and Waters showed me how to excel in both of them with joy and enthusiasm. He’s a perfect role model for embracing your weird and finding happiness in being yourself.
